The Dark Knight.

SO I went to watch the move Dark night. My god i was shocked. See i expected it to be a typical batman movie. Lots of shooting lots of killing. Lots of ppl dead. OK so in a way i was right. But u see this was one of the few movies that actually had a message. The director(Christopher Nolan) is brilliant. He had a point to make, and he made it so brilliantly. Directors are like the authors of books. They are the ones who tell the story. Actors, well they do what they are told. Its the directors interpretation that matters the most.

The Dark Knight. The message beautiful. Its about love. Its about honour Its about society that still has a chance at being saved(shown in the ferry scene). Its about trust. Its about knowing that those whom you love, love you back, thought sometimes not in the way that you might want them to.

See Batman had a decision to make. He loves Racheal. He will do anything to save her.
But he is first Batman. And second Bruce Wayne. He knows that she loves Dent. He saves Dent. His grief, his sadness at her demise is pronounced. Like a man whose fury knows no bounds, Batman, chases the Joker relentlessly.

The Joker. Another most interesting character. He experiments. Social experiments he calls them. He is a wise man. He is highly intelligent. He knows the weaknesses of man. He picks only those schizophrenic patients to be his cronies. He offers them not money. No not money. Monay has no value to a schizophrenic. No. He offers them the chance of control over their own depraved minds. He offers them sanctuary from the constant nagging in their head that will not lieave them alone. He tells them that he will " make the voices go aways and put on lights, Bright lights" in their heads. Perhaps he is one of them. Which is why he knows exactly what to offer them. It is only when the joker underestimates the inherent goodness of mankind that he falls. He sees the prisoners as animals. People who will kill and stop at nothing to meet their gain. He sees the people of the town as thie who are decadent of emotion when it comes to saving their own skins. He sees what he is himself in the people around him.
To me, it is one of the most powerful messages of the movie, when neither side blows up the other, Clearly showing all of us that the inherent nature of human beings is goodness. Human beings, placed in any situation, will make the right choice. Morale is planted in human beings. We are basically people with the presence of the intellect. We understand that our actions DEFINE who we are. Human beings are inherently good. peopl who society has cast aside as Social outcasts, realise that this is their one redeeming point. Look at it this way. Every single on of the people on those two ferries are forever indebted to the people on the other ferry who literally SAVED their lives. The Joker had unwittingly planted a seed of societal conscience in the society.

Harvey. Harvey sybolyses the side of man that is unsound. He represents the ugly side of man. His coin, which he keeps flipping shows clearly, that man is of two sides. Like any of the Almighty's creations, man comes in opposites. However, Man being the most complex of the Lord's creations, has both opposites contained in himself, As Harvey Dent clearly shows us. He has, the White Knight part of him, harvey Dent DA. The man to clean up the dirty streets. He also has within himself, contained the evil part. The part of him that is capable of the Ultimate crime, murder.

See it is mans decisions, in dire, most unpredictable, most severe, heart wrenching moments that define who he truly is. The people of the boa defined themselves, Bruce Wayne defined himself, Gordon defined himself, and Harvey Dent defined himself. There is immense truth in the saying actions speak louder then words.

The movie is one that truly touched me. It gives hope. Hope for man. Hope that man can and will salvage what is left of his dignity. Hope that after the darkest night, comes the dawn. Hope that we all will be Dark Knights. Hope that we will be what is necessary at a a particular point in time. Hope that the inherent goodness of man will surface and reign supreme.
